I have been flipping thorough peoples blogs and found a lot of postivie feedback about the animation task...I LOVED THE ANIMATION SESSIONS TOO! And have a feeling that if children were given the chance to create one they would do exceptionally well!
After thinking about the use of animation in the classroom, i came up with the following ideas:
a fun activity for Golden time (children can play around with ideas and improve their understanding of the equipment).
A way to ensure a child understands a specific topic, this could be in a variety of subjects...how we borrow 10's and give to the units to enable us to take away. The pathway the food takes on its way to the stomach, how the planets move, the sun and earth move etc. The list is endless!
As a fun activity for those children who finish work early (they can do a summary of what they have done as an animation).
As a visual learning tool for children with SEN who would benifit from this type of learning.
All in all animation is great!!

I really enjoyed this task aswell Donna, i think its a really good activity to promote team work and collabration and has lots of problem solving embedded within the activity. I really enjoyed working as a group together and how we allocated roles to everyone.. i think this is what made the animation a success. Im really looking forward to taking this idea into school and developing my own knowledge of different ways to make animations. Im glad you enjoyed it to Donna... i think the end result was worth it!! Rachel
